Certified Organic Seed
We are an OEFFA Certified seed conditioner. Our Certified Organic seed are all Ohio grown, and are conditioned on our farm. These varieties are also field and lab inspected by OSIA and verified as either Ohio Certified or Quality Assured. Below are crops we routinely carry, although varieties may vary year-to-year. Certified Organic Barley - var. Thoroughbred (winter)
- A high yielding, full season, bearded, 6-row hulled winter feed barley
- good straw length
- high test weight and bright plump seed
- resistant to powdery mildew and yellow dwarf virus
- moderately susceptible to leaf rust and net blotch
- US Protected Variety. Title V - May be sold only as a class of Certified Seed
Certified Organic Oats - var. GR65
- New white seeded oat well adapted in humid states where spring oats are grown and crown rust is not a problem
- highest yielding oat in 2015 OARDC (Wooster) trials
- good lodging resistance
- slightly taller and later in maturity than Ogle
- well-filled, white seed that averages 2-4 lbs/bu heavier test weight than Ogle
- Maturity of grain and straw adapted well for harvesting with a binder or combine
Certified Organic Oats - var. Armor
- Released by The Ohio State University, OARDC
- similar to Ogle but with 4 bu/a higher yield in Ohio tests
- excellent resistance to lodging, moderate resistance to barley's yellow dwarf virus
- mid-season maturity

Certified Organic Oats - var. Saber
- Developed by the University of Illinois Agricultural Experiment Station
- high yielding, very good test weight
- susceptible to loose smut, moderately resistant to moderately susceptible to crown rust

Certified Organic Rye - var. Spooner
- A high yielding winter (diploid) variety released by the University of Wisconsin in 1992
- excellent winter hardiness
- tall
- kernals with wheat-like color predominate
Certified Organic Soybean - var. Streeter (3.0)
- Released by Ohio State University in 2008
- maturity is 3.0
- excellent lodging resistance, Phytopthora resistance (Rps1c and Rps3a genes)
- black hila, tan pods, light tawny pubescence, white flowers
